Jena, June 1, 2010 — The prosecution Erfurt today as part of an investigation of tax offenses in Thuringia also confiscated documents of the AJZ Engineering GmbH. Subject of the investigation concerning AJZ Engineering GmbH are payments made to foreign service providers shown in the accounts of the Company in connection with different foreign projects. AJZ Engineering GmbH offers system solutions for projects in research and teaching, medicine, life science and industry. Analytik Jena AG (Frankfurt DE0005213508, Prime Standard: AJA) holds a minority stake of 49 percent in AJZ Engineering GmbH.

Analytik Jena AG itself is not focus of the prosecution, but is indirectly affected due to the profit transfer agreement that existed until early 2008. In view of this, Analytik Jena AG is interested in an expeditious completion of the investigations.

AJZ Engineering GmbH will fully cooperate with the authorities and do everything to contribute to the clarification of the facts. AJZ Engineering GmbH understands that the accusations are groundless.

Because of the ongoing proceedings, a further statement on the facts or individual allegations is currently not possible.
