Thuringia Regional Office for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Bad Langensalza

The Thuringia Regional Office for Food Safety and Consumer Protection (TLLV) has authority to enforce health, food, veterinary and animal welfare regulations. The TLLV carries out medical, veterinary, food chemical and other investigations, publishes findings and reports, as well as issuing statements.
Whereas the various divisions of the TLLV were previously located at different sites, they will now be brought together at a single location in Bad Langensalza. Some 200 laboratories are located in the new building including:

• Laboratories for measurement and sensorics,
  
• Chemical laboratories for sample preparation,
  
• Specially designated S2 and S3 laboratories for genetic studies, animal and zoonotic disease, BSE diagnostics etc.

Furthermore, the laboratory complex includes a section for large animals with adjacent laboratories for diagnostics.
Supply of all laboratory fittings including pass-through autoclaves, cooling equipment and technical appliances were coordinated with the other companies involved by AJZ Engineering. Existing equipment was factored in at the planning stage.
