Newly built Federal Centre for kidney transplantation and dialysis, Volzhsky, Russia

A 150 bed centre for kidney transplantation and dialysis has been built in the city of Volzhsky in the Volgograd Region for the treatment of urological patients with a special focus on renal failure, along with a polyclinic capable of treating 250 patients daily.

The centre will extend the diagnostic and therapeutic options available to Russian citizens and will include modern facilities for procedures such as endoscopic surgery, angiography, CT scans, radioisotopes diagnostics, all dialysis options, and kidney, liver and pancreas transplants.

The complex covers a total area of 37,761m², which includes a main building and a services building, as well accommodation for relatives.

This is a significant project for the Volgograd Region and as general contractor, AJZ Engineering is responsible for the architecture, construction, interior design, equipping of technical facilities and planning of laboratory and medical facilities.

The construction of the building has now been completed. Work is currently under way on site by German and Russian subcontractors who are completing the façade and the interior, as well as the equipping of technical facilities.
